TGIF babes! London was seriously such a fun city to visit, so I’m excited to share a little bit of our trip with you guys today! Alex had to work out of the London office, so I was able to tag along for the week. We stayed in Mayfair at the Flemings Mayfair hotel and I absolutely fell in love with the area! It was such a great location because it’s so centralized, and in walking distance to Buckingham Palace and Green Park. Not to mention Mayfair has ton’s of great shopping, which I obviously loved! We had the best time just walking around exploring and trying to blend in with the Brit’s, haha! Here are a few of the things we did that I loved the most:
You definitely cannot visit London without a trip to Kensington Gardens. Just make sure you get a pass online to Kensington Palace to avoid the long lines. I’m totally kicking myself for not taking more photos in the gardens. We were so enamored with how beautiful everything was and maybe doing a little bit of people watching, that I totally dropped the ball, lol! Also it happened to be food month while we were there, and they had the cutest food market in the gardens! If you happen to be visiting London in the month of June you absolutely have to go! It’s a night market with world class cocktails and O.M.G. the best food EVER. And the decor of this market was beyond anything I’ve ever seen in the states. It was super posh and cute, I wish we had something like this in Houston!
Located on the south bank of the river Thames, and the most popular Tourist site in the UK. The ferris wheel is the tallest viewing point in all of London, so you definitely want to go for a ride! We even had a great time walking along the river and ended up at yet another market, haha! This should tell you how much we love to just blend in with the locals, lol! After the market, we grabbed a bite at the Green Room, which is also walking distance from the London Eye.
Sketch was by far one of the cutest little gyms in London! It’s so weird and unexpected so I don’t even know where to begin, but I absolutely loved it! First thing if you plan to visit, make a reservation for the pink room in advance. They have 3 different themed restaurants in one but the pink room is the cutest thing ever! The food definitely matches the interiors with creative dishes and cocktails. However the food is not the reason you need to go here. The bathrooms are literally the coolest thing ever! The toilets are in these large white pods that play music (tiny chirping birds) and the ceiling is a bunch of colorful stained glass. As if things could get any stranger, below the bathroom is a full bar. It’s imaginary and quirky interiors will leave you feeling happy!
We went to Harrods almost every day. Along with all of the luxurious shopping they have an amazing food hall that is beyond reproach. I’d compare the setup of the food hall to Eataly in Chicago, but far more fancy! Also they have a tea and chocolate room where you can indulge in Champaign truffles and just about any type of tea in the world. Even if you despise shopping, you’ll enjoy Harrods, plus Harrods is a place you have to go just to say you went.
Thanks so much for stopping by! We defiantly left a lot on the list of things to do for next time, so what are some of your favorite London spots?
I want to go to London so bad!!!
Oh I would definitely want to visit Sketch, that place is so chic!!
